Creative Aging Photography Class

We are pleased to have Lori Adams return to the Library to teach this class. Students will learn the fundamentals of composing a photograph and the basics of using light and color in a portrait. Participants will also learn basic camera settings and be introduced to photo editing programs. Students will interview and create portraits of each other . Participants should bring their own digital camera and the teacher will tailor instruction to each camera.

This program is made possible in part with funds from the Westchester Library System Creative Aging Mini-Grant. This initiative is supported by the Westchester Community Foundation.

Tech Help with Wynter Schnell

3:30 pm - 5:30 pm

Wynter a high school junior will be at the Library weekly to help with your technology questions. No appointment required, bring your device and he will assist you. This program is in the Reading Room.

T-Shirt Quilt Class

10:00 am - 12:00 pm

This class is taught by Kate Perri who will teach you how to transform that bag of
t-shirts you have been saving into a beautiful quilt. This makes a great graduation gift!
Class will cover designing and assembling quilt. To complete in 5 weeks some work will have to be done at home. Basic machine skills helpful but not required. Must commit to all 5 sessions. Space is limited. This class does involve homework!

Python Programming Boot Camp

Ages 8-12.

Python is a general purpose, dynamic programming language.   It is written in English and easy to learn and understand.   This is a great first programming language to learn!

Students Must commit to all four sessions!  February 21st–24th 2017  (BCSD February School Break).  10:00 am -12:00 pm.

Call or register in the Children’s Room (914) 234-3570.  Registration Begins Tuesday, November 1st.

Laptops are supplied.   Taught by staff from Digital Arts Experience (DAE).   Made possible by a WLS STEM mini grants.

Students must commit to all 6 weeks.

Kim Kovach has taught cursive writing classes for 3 years at the Katonah Village Library.  She also teaches creative writing for elementary and middle school
students and is an author herself.
